Dear Kobo Citizens,
Please I will appreciate every input and motivation on this my little project. Let me begin with the floor plan
tomaths I like the design. My only concern is with the master’s room. I think the design can be altered a bit to take care of this. How to do it? I’ve got no idea as I’m not an architect or a builder.
I will appreciate your kind inputs on the shared plan
mank1234u Thank you sir for this input. I do have the same concern but the architect argued that the size of the land is the reason for that. It’s on 30X120 ft. and he said the guest room is best as is it.
tomaths I understand the constraint now. Ask him if he can move the master’s room to the corner. It will be the most occupied room in the house and would definitely need that cross ventilation except if you’ll be using window air conditioner most of the time.
mank1234u Okay, I will check with him if that is possible and we still have a good spacious room. My only consolation is that the room will be double window as it is and the next building to me is leaving a good space to that side.
I also hope the correction will be possible again as the foundation is already laid. Maybe I could have shared this much earlier
tomaths it’s possible to make adjustment at this level since you’ve not gotten to slab level.
You definitely need cross ventilation in the master bedroom.
brabus Please what level is the slab level. I’m about to do the german floor now. Do I need to pause or I can proceed? And please where would you recommend the master room to be base on the plan floor above
brabus Another specific feature I want to ensure is for the guest room to have the remote access
Check out this arrangement and show it to the architect to quickly make modification on the foundation.
It wont cost you more than 120 - 150 blocks and 2 - 3 bags of cement to do the adjustment.
brabus wahoo!!! makes a lot of sense. I will get that across to him. Thanks so much
tomaths I see that already but I’m really uncomfortable with it because of security risk.
If you’d have a very good security door in place, then it’ll be fine. Anyone who have access into that room can access any other part of the building.
brabus Please do you mean the security door at that remote entrance? What is the best practice in a situation like this? I do appreciate your time boss
It’s possible to make all the rooms cross ventilated but I think you should be fine with the above modification.
Wishing you all the best!
brabus Yes, and I think it will accommodate what is in place already
tomaths just few additional blocks and you’re fine.
tomaths Yes! I’ll look into it if we can make adjustment.
By the way, there are too many windows (27 unit) in that design, it’d cost you more to finish the build (aluminum window, burglary, window blind, etc.)
brabus what could be a way around this, please. These are some of the things I’m not paying attention to and they are crucial I must say especially for a low budget guy like myself
Will that guest bedroom only be for guests or it’d be used as maid quarters?
brabus I don’t see myself having a maid oo. I mean since I don’t have one now, I won’t probably have any. It might just be for the guests.
tomaths it’s not a problem at this stage. We can make adjustment during the stage of block work without affecting the layout of the building.
Send your elevation plans.
