Stephen Curry - 97 OVR

It’s still Stephen Curry over everybody. He averaged 25.5 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.2 rebounds in 64 games in 2021-22. He won his first Finals MVP award and his fourth NBA championship. He surpassed Ray Allen as the all-time leader in made three-pointers and became the 49th pro in league history to reach 20,000 points. Curry should go on to get at least a 97 in NBA 2K23. Joel Embiid - 96 OVR

“The Process” deserves a higher overall. Joel Embiid is tear full of 40-point triple-doubles, game-winning threes, and a league best 30.6 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 68 games from 2021-22. He led the NBA in points-per-game, the first center to achieve the feat since Shaquille O’Neal 22 years ago.

LeBron James enjoyed a career-best season despite the Lakers’ poor season. He averaged 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in 56 games in 2021-22; he’s guaranteed a Top 5 rating LBJ’s overall hasn’t started below a 96 overall since NBA 2K16.
Ja Morant - 94 OVR

Despite getting booted out earlier than expected in the postseason, Ja Morant earned his first All-Star nod, picked up some new hardware (Most Improved Player), and became only the third player in playoffs history to record multiple 45-point games before the age of 23. He averaged 27.4 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.7 rebounds in 57 games in 2021-22. His new bests in scoring, rebounds and steals deserve nothing less than a 94 overall.
Devin Booker - 93 OVR

Devin Booker is a shooter’s shooter. The Phoenix Suns guard and now NBA 2K23 Cover Athlete has averaged more than 24.9 points per game in the last five seasons. Coming off a career-high 26.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.1 steals last season and leading his team to a franchise-record of 64 games in the 2021-2022 regular season, Booker was selected as a member of the All-NBA First team and finished fourth in the race for NBA MVP.
