Mathezem2 I am not a builder or structural engineer. @mastermovic, a structural engineer, may have a proper answer.

However, I would think that all should work just fine depending on the soil structure. Still, none may work if the soil structure calls for a raft beam (example a swampy area). In some places the foundation is gug deeper in some places, it’s shallow depending on the soil structure. Using 9 inches will provide a larger surface area for for the foundation footing than with 6inches; that doesn’t mean that it is required in all locations.

I think it’s cool to look around in the locality and see what others have done, and follow suit.

Foundation is a very important stage and need to be get right at once, since there’s no soil test and only you can predict the soil nature I assume u use 9inches hollow block since it Will bear the load coming from roof..

The 9inches should cover important walls in your build (External walls and some internal) the 6 inches can likewise be use for some internal partition wall according to the architectural specification.

Mix Weak concrete and broken blocks to fill up this 6inches block.

If the area is larger kindly make sure you backfill the area.
